Privacy policy

Universal Edu Limited, company number 10386358, is the controller of personal information collected through this website. Our registered contact address is 18 Crook Log, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 8BP, England. Privacy questions can be sent to info@universaleducation.me.
Information we collect
Depending on the route you use, we may collect your name, contact details, country of residence, study interests, qualifications, approximate grades, English-language information, budget range, funding method and communication preferences. Partner enquiries may also include professional and institution details. We also process limited security data, such as a one-way hash derived from an IP address for short-term rate limiting. If you allow optional analytics, our first-party measurement system records page paths and permitted interaction labels with a random session identifier; it does not receive form answers, names, email addresses or phone numbers.
Do not submit passport copies, bank records, medical information or other sensitive documents through the public forms. If a counsellor later needs a document, they will explain an appropriate method.
Why we use information and our lawful bases
- To review and respond to an enquiry and take requested steps before a possible service agreement: steps at your request before entering a contract and our legitimate interest in answering genuine enquiries.
- To provide counselling, application or partnership services: performance of a contract.
- To keep appropriate financial, contractual and compliance records: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
- To secure the website, prevent spam and investigate misuse: our legitimate interests in operating a safe service.
- To measure optional website activity and attribution: consent, which you can withdraw through the cookie preferences.
We do not use website enquiry information to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Who receives information
Information is not sold. It may be processed by authorised Universal Education staff and carefully selected service providers supporting hosting, secure data storage, email, communications, scheduling, analytics or professional advice. Website forms are stored in protected site infrastructure and a notification copy is processed through Universal Education’s WordPress.com form service so the team can be alerted at info@universaleducation.me. If you ask us to support an application, relevant information may be shared with selected institutions, accommodation or insurance providers, translation services, visa-processing services or authorities as necessary for the service you requested. We explain material sharing before it occurs where appropriate.
International processing
Universal Education operates through the UK and Egypt and supports international applications. Information may therefore be processed in the UK, Egypt or a destination connected with your requested service. Where UK data-protection law treats a transfer as restricted, we use an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum, together with proportionate security measures. You may ask us for more information about the safeguard relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
General website enquiries are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, unless the enquiry progresses into an active service. Application, client and partnership records are normally retained for up to seven years after the relationship ends where needed for contractual, tax, regulatory or legal-claims purposes. Short-term rate-limit records expire after ten minutes. First-party analytics events are retained only for website measurement and are reviewed for deletion or aggregation after 14 months. Browser-based cookie preferences remain until you clear them or change your choice. Questionnaire progress is held only in the current browser tab or session and is removed after a successful submission. A record may be kept longer where the law requires it, a dispute is active or safeguarding makes this necessary; unnecessary information is deleted or anonymised.
Security
Public submissions are stored in protected platform infrastructure. Public visitors cannot view submissions. Administrative access is restricted to signed-in, explicitly authorised users. No internet service can promise absolute security, but access, validation and rate-limiting controls are used to reduce risk.
Children and young people
Some prospective students are under 18. We use clear language, collect only information needed to answer the enquiry, and involve a parent or guardian where appropriate to the student’s age and the service. A parent or guardian should help a younger student understand this notice. Sensitive identity, health or financial documents must not be sent through public forms.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct inaccurate information, request erasure, restrict processing, receive portable information and withdraw consent. These rights are not absolute in every situation. Email us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity without asking for more information than necessary.
Your right to object
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Universal Education does not use public enquiry data for direct marketing unless an appropriate permission or other lawful basis applies.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint for current contact routes and guidance.
